Something odd in the calculation of red lemons?
This issue was reported by Heidi Stranden.
We’re really curios about how the lemons are calculated in the snow profiles. We’ve read the guidelines from SLF thoroughly, but still we find some discrepancies that we hope that you can explain.
- Look at the profile in https://api.nve.no/hydrology/regobs/plot_v1.0/SnowProfile/177471 (also attached as an .jpg) can you explain why: a) the layer of melt forms gets a red lemon? b) the layer of pencil hard melt forms gets a red lemon?
2)look at the profile in https://niviz.org/niviz/dist/index.html?file=resources%2Fexample.caaml why does the critical layer get a lemon for the hardness (R=1,5)? I thought R=1 was the limit according to the description given by the SLF?
We're going to be really happy for an answer! Please do not hesitate to contact us if you do have any questions or need more examples.
